This one is a redesign of my very first portfolio renovatio v1.0, I know I've made many portfolio designs during my time on dA but I think I'll stick with this one now.
You can check out the old version here ~ I would really like your opinions on this one guys.
Your use of compliments is fantastic. I like how you've used transparency to give dimensionality. My one fuss would be that the green seems to be competing with the rest of the colors...because it's sorta muted it doesn't have the hard impact of the blue feather and because it's a cool color it contrasts with the oranges and yellows...just my humble opinion though. Your work is brilliant.
quite like this one actually, maybe its that transparency; stylish. i think u have bit too much color on the page, more greys/blacks/whites would have reinforced that 'stylised' theme. i have no complaints about the top half of the design, except the orange - too much orange for me. the bottom half feels like it lacks bit of say.. depth, i think if u were gonna use the bg as a large portion of ur design in the top half, u shud still do the same, maybe weaken it if u wanted abit of contrast... but not too much..(if u know wat i mean). the shadow between the 'introduction' and 'design projects' tabs seem bit out of place, i can see u have seperated the two with the darker greys above the shadow also, im just not too sure if that works that well.
also, i believe u need some white or sumthign or just a bit of blank space at the bottom of the actual deisgn, just to balance wats on top, instead of abruptly stopping the page with the context. finally (yes thank god huh) i think u need some sort of special (or not) patterned/non-patterned background for the bottom half, maybe not literally fill up the bottom half with more patterns, but maybe like just at the bottom play around with some horizontal tabs or patterns but light, so ppl dont get drawn away from the top too much. think that mite work.. anywho ur stuff is definately improving. keep up the good work
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
